The International Handball Federation was admitted as member of the International World Games Association two years ago.
The program of the forthcoming 2001 World Games will feature Beach Handball as a demonstration sport for the very first time. I very much look forward to this event as it will also offer us the opportunity to introduce Beach Handball and make it accessible to a still wider public.
The twelve best national teams (men and women) from four continents will constitute the starting line-up for the competitions. I would like, on behalf of the International Handball Federation, to convey to the promoters our congratulations on the excellent organization of these Games where 30 sports disciplines altogether will be represented.
I would be delighted if Beach Handball was to contribute its part and be a valuable addition to the already varied and most attractive program.
